Hal ini disampaikannya saat membuka Workshop Placemaking Teras Cihampelas yang digelar di Gedung Arsitektur ITB, Labtek ITB Lantai 3, Jl. Ganesha No. 10, Bandung, Kamis, 29 Mei 2025.

Acara ini merupakan sinergitas antara Japan Foundation bekerja sama dengan Malaysia Placemaking, Sekolah Arsitektur, Perencanaan, dan Pengembangan Kebijakan (SAPPK) ITB, dan Pemerintah Kota Bandung.

Sejumlah pakar placemaking dari Jepang, Malaysia, dan Indonesia hadir berbagi pengalaman dan praktik terbaik dalam mengelola ruang publik yang inklusif dan relevan dengan kebutuhan warga.

Erwin mengatakan, ruang publik seperti Teras Cihampelas memiliki peran strategis dalam kehidupan kota.

“Teras Cihampelas sejak dibangun telah menjadi ikon dan wajah baru kawasan perdagangan yang menghubungkan kota dengan warganya. Di sana ada aktivitas belanja, kuliner, hiburan, hingga sekadar menjadi tempat warga menikmati suasana,” ungkapnya.

Namun, menurut Erwin, ruang publik bukanlah sesuatu yang statis.

“Ruang publik adalah entitas yang hidup, yang memerlukan penyesuaian, inovasi, dan yang paling penting adalah partisipasi warga. Melalui workshop ini, kita belajar bahwa ruang publik bukan hanya soal bangunan fisik, tetapi wadah interaksi, pembelajaran, dan kreativitas yang menghidupkan kota,” jelasnya.

Erwin juga mengungkapkan adanya wacana untuk melakukan evaluasi Teras Cihampelas agar lebih sesuai dengan kebutuhan masyarakat.

“Gubernur sempat menyampaikan keinginan untuk menata kembali Teras Cihampelas. Tentu ini menjadi catatan penting agar penataan ke depan lebih fungsional, inklusif, dan sesuai dengan aspirasi warga,” ujar Erwin.

Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Erwin menyampaikan apresiasi kepada para narasumber dan peserta workshop.

Ia secara khusus mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Japan Foundation yang telah memfasilitasi pertukaran pengetahuan lintas negara, SAPPK ITB sebagai jembatan antara akademisi, pemerintah, dan komunitas, serta para ahli placemaking dari Jepang, Malaysia, dan Indonesia yang telah berbagi pengalaman inspiratif.

“Kegiatan ini bukan hanya sekadar wadah berbagi pengetahuan, tetapi juga momentum penting untuk menggali potensi ruang publik Kota Bandung, khususnya Teras Cihampelas. Insyaallah, hasil workshop ini akan kami bawa ke forum-forum pembangunan kota agar tidak hanya berhenti di atas kertas, tetapi diwujudkan dalam kebijakan nyata,” tegas Erwin.

Erwin juga menyampaikan rencana Pemkot Bandung untuk mengembangkan pusat-pusat bisnis, inkubasi, dan kuliner di 30 kecamatan yang akan terhubung dengan Teras Cihampelas.

“Mudah-mudahan masukan dari workshop ini dapat kami integrasikan ke dalam program strategis, terutama dalam pembahasan anggaran perubahan Juni dan anggaran murni 2026 yang dibahas pada Juli mendatang,” jelasnya.

Tak lupa, Erwin mengajak semua pihak untuk terus menyalakan semangat gotong-royong dan inovasi dalam membangun Kota Bandung.

“Kota yang hebat bukan hanya dibangun dengan batu dan semen, tetapi dengan semangat kolaborasi, cinta, dan visi bersama. Bandung bukan sekadar kota, tetapi seluas kata, karena Bandung ada di dalam jiwa kita semua,” tuturnya. (ziz/red)
