Bandung, JURNAL TIPIKOR – Wali Kota Bandung, Muhammad Farhan menilai, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) merupakan salah satu mitra terbaik Pemerintah Kota (Pemkot) Bandung dalam menjalankan berbagai program pembangunan untuk kesejahtaraan dan kemajuan wilayah.
Dengan pendekatan pentaheliks, ITB selalu mendapat ruang untuk memberi masukan ke Pemkot,” tutur Farhan pada kegiatan Sidang Terbuka ITB dan Dies Natalies ke-66 ITB di Kampus ITB, Senin 3 Maret 2025.
Menurut Farhan, ITB menjadi tempat bertanya dan konsultasi oleh pemerintah khususnya untuk pengembangan inovasi.
“Inovasi itu terus bisa dikembangkan, jadi tidak hanya di bidang teknologi, digital, dan teknik, tapi juga ekonomi,” ungkapnya
Ia mengatakan, hadirnya ITB mampu meningkatkan daya saing daerah dan menjadikan Kota Bandung sebagai laboratorium ilmiah terdekat bagi mahasiswa dan peneliti dalam menghasilkan berbagai inovasi dan penelitian.
“Ini bisa memberi banyak benefit kepada masyarakat,” katanya.
Tak hanya itu, Farhan menambahkan, ITB punya Sekolah Bisnis Manajemen yang banyak menghasilkan lulusan calon entrepreneur.
“Ini bisa menjadi daya ungkit ekonomi melalui wirausaha, baik skala kecil UMKM maupun pertumbuhan startups,” tutur Farhan.(yan/red)
